Sometimes a week can just all of a sudden be lit up like a Roman candle. Yep, it was a very intresting week...lol Ever heard of the saying,"Man makes plans and God laughs." Well, that is what happened.
Of course there is always so much to be thankful for daily. The Lord brought a new to me desk and file cabinet from the thrift store where my son works at in town. Been looking for a smaller one. So, I emptied out the old huge desk and made way for my new desk. Having the file cabinet worked out well. More than enough space for everything we have.
All the horrible fires going on in Southern California breaks my heart. Continuing to pray for North Carolina, East Tennessee, Georgia and Florida dealing with the aftermath of the hurricane Helene. We definately live in a time of great upheaval. Only Salvation in Christ Jesus is going to get us through each and every day.
We had a good 4-5 inches of snow with the storm that went through. Everyone was off of work Friday and Saturday. Back to regular life schedule happened on Monday. When my family is not normally home on specific days, I lose track of what day it is. My hubby has to remind me that it is not the day I think it is. Me sigh...
Saturday evening as I was cozy in bed watching a movie, my hubby told me about having to start up the woodstove, because something was wrong with our heating unit. Talk about being super thankful for getting it installed a year ago October 2024. I wanted a small one in case of an emergency. We had one and it does the job. Hubby called the local company who installed it just about 6 years ago to come and take a look at the error messages it has on the unit. He arrived Monday.
Sunday in person church service was cancelled due to snow. Pastor did a teaching online. We love to be in church and it was a bit of a bummer that this was the second week it was no in person church service. That's alright, God is always in control.
Sunday morning after my hubby was able to get a return call from the heat/air guy, we went shopping at Sam's Club. My son when he was little, used to tell me that was his store for his name was on it...lol We had not done any shopping there in like 6 weeks. Been a while ya know. The price of food is just horrible. Super grateful we don't need to buy eggs for we have 5 hens and they are still laying eggs. We have a nice little set up that keeps them warm and cozy in the winter time. I wouldn't be purchasing eggs. They are so darn expensive! I have a gold mine of beautiful eggs in my downstairs mini fridge.
Work on my car has been pushed back several more days due to the snow. Yet, we have my Tahoe and have been using that since the week after Christmas. This really has not bothered me. Nothing I can do to make things go quicker. Just praising God through it all.
Yeah, my week has been eventful and my plans went out the window. All in all really choosing to be content in all things and being grateful.
