I finally took out the beef bones that were in my freezer from the previous cow we had purchased. The process of making beef bone broth takes me 2 days from start to finish. On day one I boil my bones for about 5 hours on low. I let this broth cool to place the entire pot with the lid in the refrigerator overnight. The second day in the morning is to scrape the fat off and strain the broth in order to get the bones and any other gunk out. What little broth I have leftover and won't fit in my jars fully, goes in the freezer till I do another batch of broth and I add it to the second day process. Nothing is wasted in my home.
I get all my canning supplies cleaned and sterilized. While things are getting sterilized, I pour the broth in a big pot and get it to a boil. Follow canning instructions on specifics with your pressure canner and other steps.
My goal with the bone broth I have done a year or so ago and the current ones is to not have to purchase any broth at all. Less reliance on the grocery stores is important to me.
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!
