New Meatloaf Recipe

torchlightgirl

Well, I finally tried a new recipe in my THM (Trim Healthy Mama) book. I have had the book for several years and made many of the recipes. Last night I decided to use our last package of hamburger. Since there are only 3 of us at home now, I lower the amount of ingredients and replace some in all types of meal recipes. Depends what I have on hand that is fresh or in my pantry.

You try this recipe and I just bet you will never go back to your usual recipe. Enjoy!

Meatloaf:

1 Pound of hamburger

The egg whites of 3 fresh eggs

1/2 cup cooked quinoa

Salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder to your desire (I never measure)

Homemade Ketchup:

Half can of tomato sauce

Salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, little bit of vinegar and stevia powder to your desire. Take a little taste to see if this works for you. Remember, you can always add more spices to your liking.

Preheat oven to 390 degrees. Place everything in a bowl and mix well with your hands. Then place in a metal or glass bread pan. Cook for 40 minutes and see if done. Everyone's oven cooks differently. Check and see if close to being done. Then add either ketchup or make your own that is in the recipe. Place the ketchup on top of the meatloaf and spread with a large spoon. Cook another 15 minutes until done.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!
