The season of baking is upon us. You open up your recipe book and many seasonal desserts have sweetened condensed milk as an ingredient. For quite a while the price has been outrageous on the price for one single can. I haven't purchased any in several years. So I did a bit of research and saved the recipe.
Because I am all about being as frugal as possible, this recipe only costs pennies with items I already have on hand. Give it a try in your next favorite seasonal recipe. Enjoy!
Recipe:
1 cup instant nonfat dry milk
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup boiling water
3 TBS melted butter
Combine all ingredients in the container of a blender or a bowl, pot or bowl and use an immersion blender. Process until smooth. Store in refrigerator until ready to use. This yields about 1 1/4 cups.
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!
